Tennis

Our passions are travel, wine, and tennis.  Most of our posts, obviously, are about our travel experiences.  Anyone who has read many of our posts will know that our travel often includes visiting local wineries.  Now let’s talk a little about tennis.

We have often planned trips around a tennis tournament.  Planning a vacation based on a sporting event is a great excuse to visit a new location.

Over the years, we have visited:

  • 3 of 4 Grand Slam tournaments (Wimbledon, French Open, US Open)
  • 6 of 9 ATP 1000 level tournaments (Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Rome, Cincinnati, Rogers Cup)
  • 4 of 5 WTA Premier Mandatory tournaments (Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid)
  • 3 of 5 WTA Premier 5 tournaments (Rome, Cincinnati, Rogers Cup)

We have also attended Fed Cup and Davis Cup ties, and the Barcelona Open (ATP 250).

Our next trip will include the Brisbane International and the Australian Open, so we can’t wait.

Experiences at tournaments varies – some are noticeably better than others.  Articles we write in this section will focus on the fan experience at different tournaments – what we liked, didn’t like, would do again, or would do differently.

Tennis is a sport that plays well on TV, but nothing beats the experience of watching a great match live.
