We’re down to less than a week left before we move out of our house in Toronto, so it’s crunch time. We’re packing away everything that we don’t absolutely need for the next few days and getting rid of more stuff we can’t keep. Today was focused on cleaning out our cupboards with all the spices Trevor had bought to make one recipe years ago, and has been sitting on a shelf every since. Always thought that jar of Chinese 5-spice would become a staple, but alas….
Also continued to sell more of our belongings on Kijiji. There have to be few more frustrating experiences. (I know, I know, first world problems…”the guy coming to buy the extra couch we no longer need made me wait 30 minutes”, but still frustrating). The number of times we receive an email offering $20 for whatever we’re selling, not matter what it is or how much it’s worth, is actually amazing. But we look at it as every $100 we raise is another day on the road.
This website is slowly taking shape, although I realize we’re writing this blog post before the site itself is live. WordPress definitely makes things easier, but like everything, there’s a learning curve.
We’re also refining our packing list, so once that’s set we’ll post some details. After our experience in Spain and Portugal earlier this year, we’re really trying to pare back what we bring with us. So if you see us wearing the same stuff over and over when we post pictures, keep in mind we’re carrying everything for the next 5 months on our backs.
