The packing is finally done. Movers came yesterday, loaded up all the stuff we either decided to keep or weren’t able to sell and moved it into a storage locker. Even managed to sell the car today. As of Friday, when the house sale closes, we’re officially homeless! We’re 37, unemployed, and moving back in with Christine’s parents (temporarily)…living the dream 😉
We definitely have mixed feelings on the move. Toronto has been a great place to live, we had (have) a lot of great friends, and we loved the house we lived in for the past five years. However, we are both looking forward to moving on. Once the house was sold and we started packing, we just wanted to get the move over with so we could focus on our trip.
It is amazing – that we sold or donated so much stuff, that we still had so much stuff left over, and that all our remaining worldly possessions can be stuffed into a medium-sized storage locker. In so many ways it’s liberating though, one less thing to worry about. Part of us wishes we sold/gave away/donated everything so we were totally free, but that just wasn’t practical.
